Frása na Seachtaine: 'Tá brón orm!'

This week’s Frása na Seachtaine focuses on a simple and very useful everyday exchange:
“Tá brón orm.” – I’m sorry.
Response: “Ná bí buartha.” / “Ná bac leis.” – Don’t worry.
We are encouraging pupils to use this short conversation naturally during the week, especially when apologising in everyday situations. It promotes positive language, kindness, and reassurance — all while building confidence in spoken Irish.
How you can use it at home
You might try:
-
Encouraging your child to say “Tá brón orm” when they apologise.
-
Responding with “Ná bí buartha” (don’t be worried) or “Ná bac leis” (don’t worry about it).
-
Practising the exchange together in a relaxed, fun way.
Even using just one phrase a day helps build familiarity and confidence. Little and often makes a big difference!
Go raibh maith agaibh for your continued support in promoting Gaeilge at home.
