Principal's Welcome

Scoil Bhailenóra is a Catholic co-educational primary school situated in the beautiful townland of Ballinora, close to the western suburbs of Cork City.

Our school has served the wider community of Ballinora/Waterfall for over 170 years. Children and staff come to school to learn, explore, create, grow and build. We treat each other with respect and celebrate the efforts each individual makes.  

Working with families and local community organisations, we strive to provide a joyous and productive learning environment for all our 283 pupils.

Ms. Maguire’s 6th Class welcomed Mr. Cussen’s 1st Class today to celebrate @roald_dahl day📖💙 The 6th Class children created theme parks inspired by Roald Dahl’s stories and characters🎢 They brought lots of different Roald Dahl books from home and read a part of their chosen book to a partner in 1st Class📖🐛 After learning lots about Roald Dahl and his life, they finished off their day with a very fun @kahoot quiz🌞 Thank you 6th Class⭐️
A huge congratulations to all of the pupils from Scoil Bhailenóra who represented our school at the Muskerry Cross Country Competition in Macroom yesterday🥇🥈🥉 We are so proud of all of your achievements - well done you guys👏🏼
Cross Country Trials were held today in Scoil Bhailenóra🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️ Well done to all of our wonderful pupils for taking part! 6th Class enjoyed a pizza party yesterday from @apachepizzaireland thanks to @samsbusinessbus🍕🚌 6th Class engaged with a lesson ~ ‘What are your goals?’ This was one of a number of lessons included in the entrepreneurial course for children. They volunteered some fantastic answers, without the use of a camera or microphone and they were delighted with their wonderful responses👏🏼 As a result, a pizza party was the reward and they loved it🌞 Thank you @samsbusinessbus and Ms. Maguire’s 6th Class will most certainly be taking part again next year!

Scoil Bhailenóra Sports Day 2023⚽️🎾🏐 What a fantastic day!! A massive shoutout to the Sports Day committee of teachers led by Ms. Fenton who organised the events👏🏼 And to 6th Class students who ran the show, without you the day would not have been possible⭐️ A day to remember for all!

It is a tradition for 6th Class to visit @marymounthospice before they finish up in primary school to help out with some summer gardening🌺🌸 Every child made a contribution from the Confirmation money to buy plants/flowers for a part of the garden🌞 They did a wonderful job and were thanked with goodie bags afterwards with some nice treats🍪 Thank you to all at @marymounthospice for making us feel so welcome🥰
The annual Tony O’ Mahoney Tournament is a wonderful celebration of sport in Ballinora. Rang 4 to Rang 6 took part on Thursday and they loved every minute🏆 Thank you to all involved, from the GAA skills training to the past pupils who assisted on the day👏🏼 It is and always will be a great success⭐️
1st & 2nd Class enjoyed their school tour at @letsgoireland in Trabeg last Thursday🌈 A busy day filled with lots of fun activities🌞
6th Class had a wonderful day out to @ballyhass_adventures on their final school tour in primary school🚍 They enjoyed the aqua park, some archery and swinging from the high ropes🌞 A day to remember!!

Well done to 6th Class who completed their first aid workshop with @irishredcross Ballinora/Ballincollig branch today🚑🏥 Their workshop focused on bleeding, fractures, choking, burns and an introduction to the ambulance. A fantastic day for our future first aiders👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
