Is breá liom a bheith…
(I love being / I love to be…)
This is a lovely, flexible phrase that encourages children to speak positively about reading and about dressing up as their favourite book characters.
Throughout the week, children will be using and extending the phrase in class. Some examples include:

Is breá liom a bheith ag léamh. (I love reading.)

Is breá liom a bheith ag léamh scéalta. (I love reading stories.)

Is breá liom a bheith gléasta suas. (I love dressing up.)

Is breá liom a bheith gléasta suas mar charachtar. (I love dressing up as a character.)
We encourage you to use the phrase at home with your child. You might ask:

Cad is breá leat a bheith ag déanamh? (What do you love doing?)

Cén leabhar is fearr leat? (What is your favourite book?)
Even practising the short version — “Is breá liom…” — helps to build your child’s confidence in speaking Irish.
