This week, our school community came together to celebrate Kindness Week—a special initiative designed to promote empathy, generosity, and positive behaviour among our students 💛.
Each day featured a variety of kindness-focused activities. Classes kickstarted the week with a special presentation and discussion, supported by a kindness-themed homework sheet 📚.
Students across the school took part in a Kindness Bingo challenge 🎯 and added thoughtful messages to our Kindness Web in the Quad 🕸️.
Throughout the week, students were recognised for their kind gestures with fingerprint contributions to our Kindness Tree 🌳, proudly displayed in the main corridor. Teachers were on the lookout during yard time for exceptional acts of kindness, which earned children special stickers and praise ⭐.
A highlight for many was our Kindness Walkway, which wound its way around the outside of the GAA pitch 🏃♀️🏃♂️. Classes walked the route in pairs, stopping to read kindness-themed prompts and questions posted along the way. These reflective moments sparked thoughtful conversations and helped students connect with the true meaning of kindness 💬❤️.
Pupils were also spotted spreading kindness beyond our school gates. From helping neighbours to offering kind words to local workers, many children took their kindness into the wider community. One lucky post person even received a handwritten thank-you note and a packet of jellies in appreciation for delivering their letters!🍬✉️
Senior classes participated in a Kindness Poster Competition 🎨, using original slogans created by our 5th Class to inspire others. Winning posters will help shape our student-friendly Bí Cineálta policy 📝.
In addition, classes enjoyed read-alouds of kindness-themed picture books 📖, such as Have You Filled a Bucket Today? and The Invisible Boy, sparking meaningful discussions on how to treat others with care and respect.
It was a heart-warming week full of connection and care.
