We had the most exciting surprise today in Junior Infants! As part of our theme “All About Airports,” we were lucky to have not one, but two real pilots visit our classroom—Orlando’s mum and dad!
Our young aviators were buzzing with excitement as the pilots shared all about what it’s like to fly a plane, how to become a pilot, and what really happens behind the scenes at the airport. We learned about amazing planes like the Emirates Boeing 777, which can carry up to 442 passengers and is one of the biggest twin-engine jets in the world!
🧑✈️👩✈️ The pilots even brought in real pilot uniforms for us to try on! Everyone took turns dressing up —there were lots of future captains in the making!
We also explored an incredible model airplane they brought with them, and they told us about their first flying jobs and different types of planes like the ATR 72.
As part of our airport learning, we’ve been discovering how airports work, and our guests helped us understand things like:

The security check-in process

What happens at baggage screening

How passengers go through boarding gates

The important jobs that the crew and security staff do to keep everyone safe
We had so many great questions, and Orlando’s parents were amazing at answering all of them.
